IVCC gives free grownup training and equivalence programs

OGLESBY – Illinois Valley Community College’s adult education program is offering free basic adult education (ABE), traditional and online school equivalence preparatory courses (HSE), and English as a Second Language (ESL) and citizenship classes starting February 1st and 2nd.

ABE / HSE and ESL courses are offered day or evening on the main campus and at the IVCC Ottawa Center. The evening ESL courses at DePue start on February 2nd.

All students must attend a registration session prior to entering a class.

Adult Education Director Sara Escatel said, “We are excited to start a new semester for our adult learners. According to the college’s COVID guidelines, class sizes are limited. We therefore encourage students to sign up for a registration session soon. “

ABE / HSE students should call Cindy at (815) 224-0358 and ESL, and citizenship students should call Sara at (815) 224-0355 by Wednesday, Jan. 27 to register for a registration session.
